Hisun 4WD Utility Vehicle Warranty
The Electric Motor Vehicle Company Ltd (EMVC) is an appointed NZ dealership for HISUN branded electric all-terrain 4WD utility vehicles. These models cover a wide range of uses, including farming, off-road, factory operations, lifestyle properties, and limited on-road applications.
Manufactured in China by a reputable supplier, the standard factory warranties are limited. Therefore, EMVC has introduced our exclusive ELITE VEHICLE WARRANTY to ensure enhanced peace of mind for our customers.
Warranty Overview
-
Maintenance must be completed as outlined in the Owner’s Manual supplied with the vehicle.
-
However, warranty claims will not be denied solely due to a failure to perform scheduled maintenance or keep maintenance receipts.
-
EMVC may deny coverage if damage results from abuse, neglect, improper maintenance, or unapproved modifications (including use in competitive events).
-
All warranty work must be carried out by an approved and authorized repairer.
-
Warranty repairs must be completed within a reasonable time, not exceeding 30 days.
Drivetrain Warranty
-
3-month warranty covering parts and labour for all major drivetrain components:
-
Differential assemblies
-

After the initial 3 months, the warranty reverts to parts-only for the remaining 24 months of ownership.
-
Replaced items under warranty become the property of EMVC.

Motor controller
Ownership and Usage
-
Warranty ownership begins on the date the vehicle is delivered by EMVC.
-
No limitations apply regarding hours of use or kilometres travelled.
-
Owners must arrange transport to and from repair locations at their own cost.
Battery Warranty
The vehicle is powered by a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery system. These are sealed, low-maintenance batteries with an expected life of 10 years or more — if properly used. The battery is covered by a 5-Year Warranty from the date of delivery.
Tampering with or opening the battery voids the warranty.
Battery Usage Guidelines
-
Charge regularly — even when not in use.
-
Do not allow the State of Charge (SOC) to fall below 20%.
-
When storing the vehicle (e.g. during holidays), maintain SOC at 80–90%.
-
Operate to minimize current drawdown, which helps extend battery life.
Best practices include:
-
Climb hills in low gear only.
-
Avoid excessive acceleration to reduce strain on drivetrain components.
-
Monitor the amp meter and drive efficiently.
-
Avoid sharp or high current drawdowns, which may damage battery cells and reduce the State of Health (SOH).
-
Use regenerative braking when going downhill.
Temperature Notes:
-
Do not operate the vehicle in temperatures below -20°C.
-
Do not store the battery at low charge in freezing conditions.
-
Cold weather charging is recommended.
-
Avoid temperatures above 50°C.
Optional Battery Lease
Customers may lease the battery for 5 years, after which it can be replaced with a new unit.
12V Accessory Battery
Each vehicle also includes a 12V lead-acid battery (excluding the main motor). This battery:
-
Starts the main battery system
-
Has a 12-month warranty
-
Has an expected life of up to 3 years
-
Must be maintained at full charge and checked monthly
Final Note
THE BATTERY IS THE MOTOR — AND IF OPERATED SENSIBLY, IT WILL PROVIDE MAINTENANCE-FREE RUNNING.
